The goal of the film’s storyline was to precise Lee’s beliefs about the principles of martial arts. As every martial artist is defeated (including Lee’s allies), flaws in their fighting style emerge. Some, just like the character of Don Innocento, rely heavily on standard offensive and defensive techniques, while others lack the economics of movement. Lee defeats his opponents with a fighting style that mixes fluid movement, unpredictability and a selective combination of techniques. His dialogue often includes comments on their weaknesses.
